The restaurant’s menu is a treasure trove of standout items that speak to both the adventurous and the traditional palate. The Wonton Soup is a luscious starter, featuring delicate, silky wontons nestled in a savory, aromatic broth that soothes with every spoonful. Seafood lovers will be thrilled by the Seafood Deluxe Shrimp Squids & Scallops Cai Xao Hai San (炒三鮮), which bursts with the fresh, briny essence of the ocean combined with vibrant wok-tossed vegetables. Fans of beef dishes find a particular favorite in the Mongolian Beef and the Beef with Chinese Broccoli over Rice Plate, where tender beef strips are perfectly cooked and richly flavored with traditional seasonings.
Classic Vietnamese and Southeast Asian influences shine through as well, with soups like the Hot & Sour Soup (Canh Chua Cay) delivering a balanced kick of tang and spice, and fried rice options such as the Combination Fried Rice (Com Xao Thap Cam) and Salted Fish & Chicken Fried Rice offering irresistible umami depth and satisfying textures.
Feedback from patrons reflects a genuine affection for San Sun’s consistency and welcoming vibe. Harry R. praises it as his "favorite restaurant in Chinatown" for its excellent food and service, while Angela Parrish appreciates the nostalgic ambiance and thoughtful touches like complimentary hot tea. Regular visitor Athena Creer’s ten-year loyalty speaks volumes about the enduring quality, emphasizing the silky soft beef egg over rice as a must-try delicacy that’s both interesting and comforting.

My favorite restaurant in China Town. Great food and great service. Very nice owners. Highly recommended!
In Chinatown classic! I had the pure Rice noodle combination. My husband had the curry chicken and we split the eggrolls. They give you complementary hot tea and they are awesome people not to mention they were playing the best 80s music!!
The noodles that me and my mom ordered was a 10/10 and was so delicious!! I really miss going to this restaurant since it has been quite a bit and I’m so glad that I was finally able to go with my mom. I would really recommend this place if you love noodles (especially rice noodles) and I would definitely come here again when I can!! :3
Been coming here for 10years and while they may seem a bit short when communicating your needs are taken care of and the food is always good. My top 3 food to eat here are: 1) soft beef egg over rice - the texture of the egg is so good and very interesting to try if you’ve never had it before and don’t forget to add their chili crisp! 2) salted fish and chicken fried rice - the salted fish just has the right hit of saltiness and umami the rice is separated well 3) pork chop with noodles - pork chop is dry and that’s intentional the noodles are soft and it provides a nice contrast. I always aim for the perfect bite a piece of pork chop with noodle and soup at the same time and it always hits the spot on a cold day.
We walked in and were warmly greeted by the staff. Our waitress was particularly friendly and chatty. We ate the Fish Cakes, Pork Kidney w/ Ginger & Onion, and Shrimp w/ 3 Kinds of Mushroom. The pork kidney dish was unique and really good. We liked everything.
Mix Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine. Friendly service. Lots of options. Reasonable prices.
Enjoyed this clean and bright restaurant. I was looking for Pho and found this spot. First, service is quick and kind. They immediately greeted us with a cup of tea without asking. I enjoyed the standard beef Pho. My husband had his with egg noodles. Nice presentation and quick. Very good broth but not exceptional.
